Timothee Chalamet and Zendaya starred in the highly-anticipated movie Dune: Part Two. However, the release of the movie was affected by the WGA and SAGAFTRA strike.

Now, Warner Bross announced March 15, 2024, as the release date following a press release on Thursday and an Instagram post shared by the studio on Monday.

The new Dune: Part Two poster for the release showed Chalment and Zendaya as part of the cast for the movie. The highly anticipated movie is being produced by Denis Villeneuve in collaboration with Legendary Entertainment and Warner Bros. Film Group.

This is not the first time the movie has been delayed. Its first part Dune: Part One was delayed in 2020 following a worldwide covid 19 pandemic. Now, part two is delayed due to ongoing SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes.

Timothee Chalamet and Zendaya star in part two based on the two-part adaptation of the 1965 novel Dune by Frank Herbert. Dune: Part two was initially slated for an October 20, 2023 release. Then moved to November 3, and then again to November 17 of this year till the latest change.

The strikes by the two unions come with some restrictions that prohibit actors from participating in the press for struck films. Among them is Dune: Part Two, which has a reported budget of $122 million.

Apart from Zendaya and Chalamet, the cast includes Austin Butler, Florence Pugh, Rebecca Ferguson, Javier Bardem, Dave Bautista, Christopher Walken, Lea Seydoux, and more. 

Dune: Part two joins one of the movies that the  2023 SAG-AFTRA and WGA labour disputes have disrupted amongst others. The strike has contributed to the biggest disruption in the American television and film industries following the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
