Rita Ora and Taika Waititi defied convention with their major proposal: she asked him to marry her!
The information was shared in a recent joint interview for a piece about their elegant 2022 wedding in Vogue that was published on August 4.

The well-known director remarked, “She proposed to me, and I said yes instantly.
Rita allegedly made the significant decision while the couple was vacationing in posh Palm Springs.
They married privately on August 4, 2022, in Los Angeles, just a few weeks later.
The Jojo Rabbit director claimed that it wasn’t in London or France as everyone had claimed. With a small group of friends, it happened in Los Angeles. Rita further stated, “At our home!”
After some hesitation, the pair ultimately discussed their wedding day.
Taika told the magazine, “There were about eight people there—just close friends and family, and parents on Zoom. Jemaine Clement, a close friend, arrived from New Zealand abruptly to attend the wedding.
“It was us and my sister Elena,” Rita stated. “Elena to the rescue!”
There were also Taika’s daughters Matewa Kiritapu and Te Hinekahu.
The singer said that the low-key ceremony that officially began their new life together was “peaceful.” Rita admitted, “It was almost like another day. We just all dressed up and got married.”
What she wore was quite interesting to the fashion icon’s followers. She was glad to finally divulge information.
“I wore my mum’s pearls that she got married in,” she said of her “something borrowed.”
“My sister, Elena, put [the bracelet] on my wrist. It was beautiful. My sister walked me down the aisle, and it was just really simple and blissful and calm and private and fun.”
The bride revealed that she had on a gorgeous Tom Ford gown.
“To get married in his dress was a dream come true,” she remarked, adding that Tom is “one of my favorite designers of all time and favorite humans in general.”
The dress, which can be seen in the Vogue story, was a stunning one-shoulder, almost sheer, white lace dress fit for musical royalty.

She carried one long-stemmed rose and covered her head with a modest veil.
