Billie Eilish Debut New Brunette Hair, Fans Shock At The Sudden Change

Billie Eilish is getting a head start on her “new year, new you” campaign as the 19-year-old pop star debuted brunette hair on Instagram on Thursday, seemingly ditching the platinum blond style she’s had since spring.

“Miss me?” she captioned a selfie of her dramatically darker ‘do, after teasing the transformation on Instagram Stories with a closeup of her brown bangs, simply writing, “guess what.”

Her fans and famous followers alike were taken aback by her sudden beauty transformation, with Olivia Rodrigo commenting “omg,” and another commenter adding, “THE BLONDE ERA IS OVER ???”

Eilish is no stranger to shocking fans with her fashion changes. In March, she broke the internet by ditching her signature green roots for a blond dye job; her Instagram photo of the look received a record-breaking 1 million likes in six minutes.

The Grammy winner revealed that she wore a Billie Eilish Halloween costume wig to hide her hair during the six-week dyeing process. She later explained why she changed her hair color, which coincided with the release of her “Happier Than Ever” album.

“I couldn’t go anywhere with that hair because it was so obviously me. I wanted anonymity,” Eilish had told Elle of going blond.

Despite rocking green locks for several years, the hair-color chameleon has previously sported shades ranging from blue to purple.

“I had no goal of ‘This is going to make everybody think differently of me. The other day, I posted a video from when I had green hair, and I saw people go, ‘I miss this Billie, the green-haired Billie.’ I’m still the same person. I’m not just different Barbies with different heads,” she added.
