Raven-Symoné Admits Getting Liposuction And Breast Reduction Surgery Before The Age Of 18

Raven-Symoné revealed that as a minor, she underwent various cosmetic procedures.

“I had two breast reductions and lipo before I turned 18,” she revealed on this week’s episode of “The Best Podcast Ever with Raven and Miranda.”

When Miranda Pearman-Maday, her wife, inquired why she decided to undergo the operations, the Disney Channel actress — who was starring in “That’s So Raven” at the time — said her father encouraged her to do it while she was being ridiculed for her weight.

“There was paperwork involved,” she recalled. “My dad suggested strongly that I should get my breasts reduced.”

“He was like, ‘So you don’t feel bad, is there anything that you want?’ I was like, ‘Yeah if I get lipo, will people stop calling me fat?’”

“So I got a twofer,” she continued. “It was just a mess, just being that young and the pain of it all.”

Despite the ordeal, the “Cheetah Girls” star, 37, opted to have another procedure when her breasts became “still too big” as a result of her weight gain.

Raven-Symoné struggled with the decision after revealing she had a seizure following her initial breast reduction surgery.

“I remember waking up and seeing everything … and then I just started to have this dry mouth and couldn’t breathe and went back under,” she recalled.

While the “Cosby Show” alum doesn’t remember much of what happened because she was “disassociating” from reality, she acknowledged that not knowing what triggered the seizure “freaks her out a bit.”

Raven-Symoné then explained how women’s bodies evolve from adolescence to adulthood and recommended others postpone surgery until they are completely formed.

However, the actress stated that doing the work was the greatest way to keep her “titties from reaching her ankles.”

“I don’t know if I regret it because they grew back not to that big of a size,” she explained.

The “Raven’s Home” actress, who has previously spoken up about her weight loss struggles, announced in March 2022 that she shed 40 pounds on a no-sugar diet with the assistance of her wife.

“With her help and guidance and love and fantastic cooking skills … she helped me kick sugar,” she said on “The View” at the time.

“I say kick sugar because it is an addictive drug, and I was addicted to it in wheat form, in regular form. And it’s out of my system. What made me want to change was her.”

Raven-Symoné, who lost weight from 210 to 170 pounds, revealed that she was inspired to make a change after receiving a wake-up call from her doctor.

“I want to be here for her for as long as I can,” she explained.

The actress and Pearman-Maday married in June 2020.
