Christine Baumgartner, Kevin Costner’s estranged wife, reportedly believes $52,000 per month in child support for three children is “completely inappropriate.”
According to new court records acquired by TMZ on Thursday, the former handbag designer, who is in the middle of a messy divorce with the movie star, maintained her position that her children “need” $248,000 per month in child support.

Baumgartner, 49, reportedly stated that Costner, 68, earns $65,000 per month merely for renting out a beachfront house, which is more than he is willing to spend for his three minor children.
The “Bodyguard” star and his ex-wife have three children: Cayden, 16, Hayden, 14, and Grace, 13.
Baumgartner previously stated that her children are accustomed to a lifestyle that includes aides, helps who handle schedules, grocery shopping, food prep, cleaning, and cooking.
However, Costner has claimed that the $51,940 per month he’s currently paying, is the only “reasonable” amount of money that he should pay in child support.
The actor has also claimed that he simply cannot “afford” a larger amount because he will no longer be appearing on his blockbuster show “Yellowstone.”
“I will earn substantially less in 2023 than I did in 2022,” he stated in court filings last week. “This is because I am no longer under contract with Yellowstone, the principal source of my income last year.”
Costner has claimed, through his lawyer, that Baumgartner is seeking a higher child support payment to subsidize her personal costs.
The “Hidden Figures” actor’s forensic accountant discovered in previously available paperwork that his estranged wife spends more than $100,000 on cosmetic surgery operations – and that’s the real reason she’s asking for so much money.
Costner further claimed Baumgartner spent thousands of dollars on boutique shopping, ATM withdrawals, construction loans, attorney costs, and other things that had “nothing” to do with her children.
However, the former model, who was ordered by a judge earlier this week to vacate the marital home by the end of the month, reportedly wants to use the money to buy a house for her children to reside in that is comparable to the “gated” neighborhood they are accustomed to.
After 18 years of marriage, Baumgartner filed for divorce in May, alleging “irreconcilable differences.” Costner was supposedly ‘blindsided’ by this because he planned to file for divorce first.
