Margot Robbie has recreated several Barbie looks since she starred in the yet-to-be-released movie.
This time around she brought Barbie back to her vintage glamour roots for the film’s Los Angeles premiere.
Margot was spotted at the Los Angeles premiere at the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall. She wore a glittering custom Schiaparelli couture gown inspired by the 1960 “Solo in the Spotlight” Barbie.
The strapless bustier gown was covered in sparkling sequins, with the curve-hugging bodice ending in a flouncy, mermaid-style skirt made of layers of inky black tulle.
Margot Robbie’s dress also has an embroidered corsage adorning the tulle skirt, perfectly matching the original doll’s details.
Not only the dress but the actor also recreated her accessories, as she added velvet opera gloves, black peep-toe heels, and layers of diamond choker necklaces while carrying a pale-pink silk mousseline scarf.
Margot Robbie swept her hair in a perfectly coiffed high ponytail, and her glam look was topped off with glowy, rosy blush and a bright red lip.
Since her recreation spree, the star has worked with celeb stylist Andrew Mukamal. She has been photoed channelling the iconic doll throughout the decades.
She sported the original 1959 doll‘s striped bodysuit to a studded 60s-era skirt tulle and ’80s-style day and night looks.
At the film’s press events in Mexico City earlier this week, Margot Robbie embodied two of the doll’s most popular editions circa 1992, the “Totally Hair” Barbie and the “Earring Look”Barbie.
For the latter, the star wore her edgiest look of the tour so far, a custom Balmain outfit consisting of a sculpting hot-pink leather minidress and a pink long-sleeve mesh top.
