Jason Sudeikis ‘100 Percent Knew’ His Awards-Show Hoodies Would Go Viral

“I 100% knew that was going to be a whole to-do. That’s me. I’m a rebel rouser,” he said during People, EW & TNT’s SAG Awards Pre-Show ahead of Sunday’s telecast.

Jason Sudeikis says his casual attire at recent awards shows was “100% intentional.”

The “Ted Lasso” creator, 45, recently went viral at the 2021 Golden Globes and Critics Choice Awards by sporting hoodies while accepting his wins.

However, Sudeikis said he was fully aware of the blowback he might receive — and was actually looking for it.

“I 100% knew that was going to be a whole to-do. That’s me. I’m a rebel rouser,” he said during People, EW & TNT’s SAG Awards Pre-Show ahead of Sunday’s telecast.

At the Globes, the actor wore a tie-dye hoodie from his sister’s dance studio, Forward Space. And at the Critics’ Choice Awards, he gave a nod to ex-fiancée Olivia Wilde by sporting a Crockett High sweatshirt, representing the fictional school from Wilde’s directorial debut, “Booksmart.”

The actress-turned-director, 37, gave the casual look her stamp of approval, joking, “I hope this means we all keep wearing hoodies when the ceremonies are in person next year.”

In regards to Sunday’s 2021 SAG Awards, odds are Sudeikis will pull another hoodie out of his closet, but he hasn’t decided yet: “I haven’t started planning [my outfit],” he said during an interview with“Entertainment Tonight Canada.”

“It’s a last-minute decision, much like the hoodie. The big decision was do I wear the hood up or hood down.”
