Gabrielle Union has proved to be a fashion Icon true and true. The actress has given a whole new meaning to the term “look of the day”.
The actress stepped out in two different monochrome ensembles while doing press in New York City on Tuesday, June 13.
She was first spotted in Midtown, rocking a gray monochrome outfit. The ensemble features a long double-breasted coat atop a plunging gray sweater.
Gabrielle Union paired the coat with a coordinating gray miniskirt, a massive pendant necklace, and soft makeup.
The revival of the monochrome style outfits came in January 2021 courtesy of Vice President Kamala Harris, First Lady Jill Biden, and former First Lady Michelle Obama.
The power figures wore outfits that consisted of one color at President Joe Biden and Harris’ inauguration.
The trend quickly gained and maintained momentum, with luxury fashion brands including Max Mara, Stella McCartney, Elie Saab, and more showcasing new monochrome designs on their spring/summer 2023 runways.
While we were relishing her gray suit, the “Bring it on the star” took us by surprise when she stepped out in a hot pink ensemble, nailing the Barbiecore aesthetic.
Gabrielle was a sight to behold as she was photographed out and about in the Big Apple in a tailored fuchsia jacket styled with a rosy mini dress.
A few actresses have stepped out in pink following the release of Greta Gerwig’s Barbie which has us swooning over the shade more than ever.
Pretty in Pink has long been a go-to vibe, before the movie courtesy of luxury brand Valentino. The brand made many fashion icons fall in love with the flirty hue.
In March 2022, Pier Paolo Piccioli unveiled the fall 2022 Valentino collection at Paris Fashion Week which consisted of only pink and black pieces.
I was fascinated by the idea of having this moment of reflection and digging deeper,” he told Vogue in an interview that same month, adding that the shade is meant to “intensify the senses.”
Union’s timely fashion statements come as no surprise. The Nebraska native always blesses our gallery with her stellar style moments.
At the 2023 Met Gala event last month, she wore a fiery red look from Prada to honor the life and career of late designer Karl Lagerfeld.
Her look features a long crocodile-embossed coat and a floor-length gown that was equipped with a cascading train.
