This time around Drake recently spent $1.01 million to own a massive gold, ruby and diamond crown ring custom created and worn by the late rapper, Tupac Shakur.

Then showed off the bling on his Instagram story while promoting his new feature in Travis Scot’s song “Meltdown,” from the new Album Utopia.

Drake also shared a picture of the Late Princess Diana. Tupa Shakur wore the ring for his final public appearance at the 1996 MTV Video Music Awards. The ring was auctioned for sale at Sotheby’s by Yaasmyn Fula, the late singer’s godmother.

Tupac Shakur’s ring is a diamond-encrusted gold band which features a gold circlet studded with the three largest jewels in the entire piece a central cabochon ruby flanked by two pavé-cut diamonds.

The ring also has an inscription that reads “Pac & Dada 1996,” a nod to the late rapper and his then-new fiancée, Kidada Jones. Then Shakur wore the accessory on his left ring finger. And now Drake owns the ring.

Apparently, Shakur created the ring in a nod to the crowns worn by Europe’s medieval kings as “an act of self-coronation.” Then worked with New York jewellers to create the piece.

Initially, the ring bought by Drake was estimated to be worth, $300,000 high estimate but was sold for more than triple tha making it one of the most valuable hip-hop artefacts bought in an auction.

Cassandra Hatton, Sotheby’s Global Head of Science & Popular Culture, said, “This one-of-a-kind, custom ring was meticulously designed by Tupac.”

“And is among the final products of his boundless creative energy — a unique artefact from a period that is a testament to his enduring influence on both Hip Hop and global contemporary culture.”
