In a strange moment at the Invictus Games on Monday, Prince Harry received a funny — if weird — remark regarding his signature beard.
The Duke of Sussex arrived in Dusseldorf today, September 11, to watch the athletics on day three of this year’s games.
He sat in the stands alongside Kenyan Senator Gloria Orwoba and Ukrainian Minister of Veteran Affairs Yulia Laputina.
Since the start of this year’s games on September 9, the Invictus founder has met with many representatives and athletes from the participating countries, as well as thrilling royal fans with glimpses of the famous Prince.
In one viral social media video, filmed by the Telegraph’s royal writer Victoria Ward, Harry is seen walking in front of a boisterous crowd while admirers beg for his attention – one in particular stands out.
Over the group, an unnamed man can be heard saying, “Great hair, Prince.”
Then, after a brief pause, he adds, “Your beard is delicious!”
The Prince’s reaction is not seen in the footage, but the crowd can be heard laughing in the background.
Ms. Ward captioned the video, “Big fan obvs.”
The Duke of Sussex, who established the games in 2014 to honor sick, injured, and wounded military members, has stated that he intends to attend as many events as possible throughout the week-long competition. He has already appeared on the German edition of ‘Match of the Day,’ which is carried on the German channel ZDF.
The prince took part in a lighthearted goal wall challenge alongside Germany’s Defence Minister Boris Pistorius and two other guests, and the smiling Prince was in excellent spirits during the penalty shootout.
His wife Meghan Markle is due to join him in Germany tomorrow, however there has been significant discussion about whether she will travel from California.
According to the official Invictus Games guide, Meghan will “take to the stage” for the closing ceremony to present a part about the competitors’ lives.
