Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have instilled fear in a Hollywood suburb with the rumor that they may relocate there, reports say.
According to the New York Post, residents in Santa Barbara’s Hope Ranch neighborhood have started making anxious calls to local real estate agents about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s alleged move.
Hope Ranch is a well-known California neighborhood based on a strong equestrian community, offering Harry the opportunity to indulge in one of his life’s biggest interests.
However, residents of Hope Ranch have expressed their displeasure at the thought of the royal couple relocating next door, claims the New York Post.
One realtor, who requested anonymity, stated last week that they were concerned about what would happen if they moved to the area.
The insider claimed, nine months after it was originally reported that they were looking for a new home, “The people that made the calls to me don’t want change and they don’t want all the hoopla.”
“People are not happy, that’s the word around town.”
It comes as the Sussexes consider their future steps, with the pair hoping to relocate closer to central Los Angeles.
They currently reside in a £11.4 million mansion on the outskirts of Los Angeles, where getting into the city center can take up to three hours due to excessive traffic.
A source told TSZ Newz, that Malibu was a “place of interest” for the pair, with the couple “secretly” visiting the area several times.
“And Meghan knows parts of the region from being there as a kid. It is uncertain if they will sell Montecito or just add a Malibu spot to buy.” They added.
“The move consideration comes as Meghan is shifting gears and focus back to Hollywood with William Morris Endeavour (WME) Talent Agency.”
Her contract with WME was inked earlier this year, and observers viewed it as a hint that Meghan was aiming to relaunch her career.
She is represented by Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel, one of California’s most sought-after agents.
“Being close to Beverly Hills and LA where the deals are done is smart. And of course, there is a real Malibu scene where major stars, producers, and studio executives all hang out, socialize and get deals done during dinner and beach parties.” The source concluded.
