Princess Kate will be Trooping the Color for the first time this weekend, as she takes over as Colonel of the Irish Guards, a position previously held by her husband, Prince William.
The princess will make her debut at the event in her most senior role to date, joining other working members of the Royal Family at Trooping the Color to commemorate the birthday of the British Sovereign, King Charles.

Princess Kate’s choice of color at the event, which is believed to signify her high status within the Firm, has sparked speculation among royal analysts. Mok O’Keeffe, a royal historian, told Express.co.uk that “green or blue” are possible options for her attire.
The historian also stated that Kate is unlikely to wear a uniform because she has never been in the military, but this will be her first Trooping as Colonel of the Irish Guards, and it will be “particularly important and special” for the royal this year.
Prince William showed his admiration for his wife when she visited the St. Patrick’s Day Parade at Mons Barracks in Aldershot, England, for the first time in her new job on March 17.
William described giving a speech as “incredibly sad” because it signified his time as Colonel of the regiment was coming to an end.
Prince William then addressed his wife as “Colonel Catherine,” adding, “I may be stepping aside, but in Colonel Catherine, you have a committed, focused, and already incredibly loyal 11th Colonel.
As you serve together over the years ahead, know that I will continue to watch you, with huge pride in having been one of you.”
The mother-of-three is expected to witness the spectacle from the safety of her ceremonial carriage before joining the King and other top working Royals on the Buckingham Palace balcony.

Her three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, will all be present.
The parade is a British royal tradition, jam-packed with pop and pageantry, and commemorates the British Sovereign’s formal birthday. Trooping the Color has been an annual event since 1760 and takes place every year in June.
On June 17, over 1400 parading soldiers, 200 horses, and 400 musicians will come together in a spectacular display of military precision, horsemanship, and fanfare, similar to what we saw during the King’s Coronation last month.
