Prince William paid a surprise visit to award a gong to an English rugby star today.
The Prince of Wales visited Sarina Wiegman, the Lionesses’ head coach, at St George’s Park and presented her with a CBE.
The Prince’s surprise visit to Ms. Weigman came over a year after it was announced that she would receive the royal honor.

She was among the recipients of the New Year’s honors list, and she dedicated the honor to her players in a statement.
“I am very honored,” she stated at the time.
“I dedicate this prestigious title to the players, coaching team, and everyone in the English League who have worked tirelessly for our joint success.
“It has been a great year and we are already looking forward to 2023, hopefully we can continue to make England proud.”

Photographers captured the moment a happy Ms. Weigman collected the Prince’s Award.
The Prince was photographed delivering the medal out of a dark box and standing with the iconic captain and other members of her team.
The visit was part of a busy day for the Wales family, which included Kate, Princess of Wales, visiting London to launch the National Portrait Gallery.
