Prince Harry allegedly made a “snide remark” that damaged the Princess of Wales’ trust, resulting in the royal schism between them.
According to one royal analyst, the Duke of Sussex’s remark indicates that Princess Kate is unlikely to rush to reconcile with her brother-in-law.
In regards to the schism between Prince Harry and Princess Kate, royal expert Katie Nicholl stated that the two were “very very close” before Harry and Meghan Markle stepped down as senior working royals.
She added: “When you think of the personal revelations, and I think you can call them snide remarks made about Kate in Spare, Harry broke the one rule and that is staying silent on family matters.”
Harry described the royal animosity in his tell-all biography, which was released in January, and made barbs at Kate, whom he also referred to as the “sister I’ve never had and always wanted.”
Speaking about it, Ms. Nicholl added: “While Kate and Harry used to be very, very close, there’s been a complete breakdown of that relationship.
“I don’t think Kate is angry. I think it is more a case of feeling very disappointed, very let down, and feeling hurt knowing that she had no right of reply – and Harry knew full well she had no right of reply.”
Unlike his wife, Prince William was “very angry” at his brother for dragging Kate into it, believing she was “blameless throughout.”
Ms. Nicholl added: “[Kate] acted very much as the peacekeeper, she tried to get the brothers back on an even keel and for Kate to be dragged into this mucky saga was upsetting for her and certainly did infuriate William.”
“I think it’s too far down the line for Kate and Meghan,” the analyst said of Meghan Markle.
“There were some deeply personal revelations about Kate in the book.”
Speaking of where Meghan stands at the moment, she added: “Meghan clearly didn’t enjoy her time here [in the UK] and she’s obviously leading a much happier life in California.
“She is certainly in no hurry to come back to Britain [to reconcile], though she was certainly in a hurry to leave!”
Meghan, like Harry, has made comments about the Princess of Wales in the last year.
Last December, the pair published their six-episode Netflix docuseries, in which the Duchess spoke up about the first time she met her future sister-in-law.

Meghan said: “I met her [Kate] for the first time, I think we went for dinner, I remember I was in ripped jeans and barefoot.
“I was a hugger, I’ve always been a hugger, I didn’t realize that was jarring for a lot of Brits.”
