According to reports, Prince Harry is “unable to have a positive public image” without the Royal Family.
The Duke of Sussex’s popularity has plummeted in recent years, notably following his departure from the Royal Family in 2020.
Harry has “completely tanked” his own public image perception, according to broadcaster Esther Krakue.
Her remarks came after a Newsweek study earlier this year found that only 31% of Americans approve of his wife, Meghan Markle.
Despite Meghan’s rating, which gave her a net approval of minus two, Harry’s rating was higher by 12%.
Ms. Krakue said: “[The Sussexes] were so adamant that they want to curate their own public image.
“Unfortunately, the more [that] they seem to do that, the more they actually fail.”
She went on to say that Harry’s success over the years was solely due to his ties to the Royal Family.
She added: “They really actually saved his public image because ever since he’s left, and he’s been completely in charge of his image, alongside his wife Meghan Markle, it’s completely tanked.”
Ms. Krakue added: “And it just shows that sometimes actually having the protection of people you may not always agree with is a blessing more than a curse.”
These remarks come after royal commentator Mark Broadman said that Harry “longs” for old connections and dreams of having a house in the UK.
He continued, “He appears to have distanced himself from his college friends and lacks a permanent UK residence.”
Reflecting on Harry’s recent excursions to the UK, he noted, “[Harry] typically resides in hotels and avoids public appearances.”
Last month, Harry came to the UK for a brief visit that lasted less than 24 hours.
On September 7, Harry arrived in London for the WellChild Awards before heading to Germany for the 2023 Invictus Games.
He then paid a visit to Windsor to commemorate the first anniversary of the late Queen’s passing.
