Prince Harry was reportedly absent at his best man’s wedding.

Jack Mann who stood by the Duke of Sussex during his wedding five years ago, tied the knot this weekend.

Unfortunately, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle did not attend. Following Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s royal wedding in 2018, there were rumors that Mann was more than simply an usher, but his ‘real’ best man, as opposed to Prince William.

As a result, many people were disappointed by the Sussexes’ absence over the weekend, when Mann celebrated his wedding.

Mann, 40, married osteopath Isabella Clark at St Peter’s Church in Stutton.

Among the notable attendees was Thomas van Straubenzee, Prince Harry’s close buddy and Princess Charlotte’s godfather.

He was accompanied by his wife Lucy, who works as an assistant head at Thomas’s, Charlotte, and Prince George’s previous school.

The extent of Harry and Mann’s friendship remains unknown, as it blossomed during their time at Sandhurst, where both were commissioned into the Blues and Royals.

In the Duke’s controversial memoir Spare, published earlier this year, Harry freely admitted to a rift with certain old associates after openly criticizing the Royal Family on television.

While Mann is often regarded as the true best man, Prince William actually filled the role, and the Palace stated at the time that he was “honored to have been asked, and is very much looking forward to supporting his brother at St George’s Chapel.”

This deviates from the traditional royal practice of referring to the best man’s role as a “supporter.”

For example, when Prince Charles married Princess Diana in 1981, he chose his brothers Andrew and Edward as supporters.

According to royal analyst Marlene Koenig, Prince William’s responsibilities as best man were no different from those of any other person in his position.

His major goal was to guarantee that the wedding proceedings ran well. “The two brothers are close in age and close friends,” Ms. Koenig remarked at the time.

“They depend on each other and trust each other.”

She stated that William is in charge of “moral support, [holding] the ring, being a good big brother, and, of course, hosting the inevitable stag party.”

Meanwhile, in another part of Harry’s explosive memoir, the Duke disclosed that he was not William’s best man, as previously announced.

The best men were William’s friends, James Meade and Thomas van Straubenzee.

“The public had been told that I was to be best man, but that was a bare-faced lie,” he wrote.

“The public expected me to be best man, and thus the Palace saw no choice but to say that I was.

“In truth, Willy didn’t want me giving a best-man speech.

“He didn’t think it safe to hand me a live mic and put me in a position to go off script. I might say something wildly inappropriate. He wasn’t wrong.”
