Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s “dreams of conquering America” are “coming to an end” after a string of recent catastrophic failures, according to a royal analyst.
After standing down as senior working members of the British Royal Family in 2020, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex relocated to the United States and negotiated lucrative partnerships with Netflix and Spotify to pursue successful media careers.
However, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s $20 million deal with Spotify was amicably terminated, and their Netflix documentary series was dismissed by the Emmys despite smashing numerous viewership records for the streaming giant.
Meghan is said to have signed with Hollywood talent agency WME, while Harry is working on his documentary Heart of Invictus, which will be released on Netflix next month.
Some royal commentators are wondering what the Sussexes will do next, with one saying their chances of being a major hit in the US are on the verge of crumbling.
“The Meghan Markle and Prince Harry empire is in serious trouble,” Nile Gardiner told the Daily Express US.
“Their deal with Spotify has come to an end and in fact, they were condemned by a senior executive there, who even called them ‘grifters’.
“It is not surprising we haven’t heard much from either of them in recent months because they have become hugely unpopular figures on both sides of the Atlantic.
“Their dreams of conquering America are coming to an end.”
Gardiner believes Harry and Meghan will do everything possible to keep their titles of Duke and Duchess of Sussex, which they have held since standing down as senior working royals three years ago.
However, the couple “are really struggling to succeed as non-working royals,” according to the analyst.
He continued: “The only thing Harry and Meghan currently have going for them is their royal titles, which they cling to like a life raft. I see no way back for Harry in terms of returning to the royal fold.
“Both Harry and Meghan are really struggling to succeed as non-working royals. But they will fight to keep their royal titles because of the prestige they bring.”
Another royal expert claims Meghan plans to become a “Hollywood power player” and has “set up shop” in a LA hotel suite near her talent agency to work on new projects.
Meghan Markle was believed to have signed with Hollywood talent agency William Morris Endeavour (WME) earlier this year, which has represented Dwayne Johnson, Adele, and Serena Williams.
Kinsey Schofield has disclosed that one of the stories going around is that Meghan is hoping to make a huge splash in Hollywood.
“One of the rumors is that Meghan has set up shop in a hotel suite across from her agency William Morris Endeavour and that she has her eyes set on bigger opportunities,” she stated during an appearance on GB News in the UK.
“She wants to be a power player in Hollywood and that is not the direction that Harry has any desire to go.”
Meanwhile, Harry is said to be working on his own documentary, Heart of Invictus, which will be released on Netflix. He may also travel to Africa to record another documentary at some point.
Netflix recently confirmed its commitment to the Meghan and Harry partnership, with a spokesman telling Entertainment Tonight, “The bond with Archewell Productions is one we deeply value.” Harry and Meghan launched as Netflix’s most spectacular documentary debut to date.
“Our exciting journey with them isn’t ending anytime soon. We’re currently collaborating on numerous projects, including the much-anticipated documentary series Heart of Invictus.”
