Meghan Markle Made A ‘Brutal’ Move, An Author Claims Ended Her First Marriage

According to royal author Andrew Morton, Meghan Markle made a “brutal” move when she dissolved her previous marriage in 2014.

Meghan was married to Trevor Engelson, a film producer, for three years before meeting Prince Harry in 2016.

The ex-couple, who had been together for seven years, married in Jamaica in 2011.

Meghan and Trevor divorced in 2013 after two years of long-distance marriage and were given a no-fault divorce on the grounds of irreconcilable differences.

According to Mr. Morton, who is best known as Princess Diana’s biographer, Meghan decided to end things on her own – and even returned her wedding and engagement ring to her ex.

“A wealthy entrepreneur friend claimed that the marriage ended so abruptly that Meghan sent Trevor her diamond wedding and engagement rings back to him by registered mail,” he writes in his book, Meghan: A Hollywood Princess.

“Another confirmed that the decision to end the marriage was made by Meghan and that it had come ‘totally out of the blue’.”

Since their divorce, the two have taken completely different paths.

Meghan first met and married Prince Harry before being an official working royal.

This lifestyle was short-lived, as the couple decided to step down as senior working royals less than two years later.

Following their choice to step down, the couple relocated to the United States, where they settled in with their two children, four-year-old Prince Archie and two-year-old Princess Lilibet.

Trevor married Tracey Kurland, a nutritionist and multi-million dollar heiress, in 2019, the year after Meghan married Harry.

The couple, like Meghan and Harry, have two children together.

In a complete turn of events, Meghan is apparently considering restarting her career in social media.

She had several social profiles before joining Harry’s family, but she had to close them down to comply with royal requirements.

It has been reported that Meghan is considering relaunching Instagram, where she could earn up to £795,000 every post.
