King Charles is yet to read Prince Harry’s tell-all memoir Spare due to its “hurtful” contents, reports say.
The Duke of Sussex released his book at the beginning of the year, detailing intimate facts about his life, from his mother’s death to his departure from the Royal Family with Meghan Markle.

However, six months after its publication, his father, the King, isn’t thought to have read the book but is aware of its contents.
The book provoked debate over how much information Harry revealed, including claims that his brother Prince William physically assaulted him and evidence that the brothers begged Charles not to marry Camilla.
Rebecca English, Royal Editor of the Daily Mail, reports a family acquaintance as stating, “Why would he read something that he knows is going to be so hurtful?”
Relationships between the father and son are said to be strained, with Harry and Meghan turning down an “open invitation” to spend time with the rest of the royals in Balmoral this summer.
Ms. English quotes another friend as saying, “It’s been a very visibly challenging year when it comes to the Sussexes.”
The statement comes after Meghan and Harry’s businesses were rocked by the cancellation of their lucrative partnership with Spotify after only one season of Meghan’s podcast Archetypes.
The pair is now regarded to be more concerned with their future than with their feud with the Royal Family.
Since Meghan and Harry decided to step down as senior royals in March 2020, their relationship with the royals, especially with the King and Prince William has been strained.
Since their departure, the pair has only visited the UK on a few occasions.
Recently, Prince Harry attended King Charles’ Coronation alone, however, it is said that he did not speak to either his father or brother during the visit.
According to royal analyst Sarah Hewson, there are “absolutely no signs” of Harry and William’s damaged relationship being repaired since Harry has caused “too much damage.”
Harry claimed in his 416-page memoir that his brother shoved him during an altercation at his London home in 2019.
He claimed William branded Meghan as “difficult”, “rude”, and “abrasive”.
William “grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and… knocked me to the floor,” he wrote.
Prince William is yet to respond to the allegations.
