Queen Camilla and Kate, Princess of Wales, have the full support of their sisters, who are cheering them on at every turn.

Their closeness to their siblings appears to echo Queen Elizabeth II’s closeness to Princess Margaret.

Both Annabel Elliot, 74, and Pippa Middleton, 39, are pillars of support for their royal sisters as they negotiate their public responsibilities.

Since her May Coronation, Queen Camilla, 75, has been joined by her sister at several ceremonies, while Princess Kate, 41, has long included her sister in the more important aspects of her royal life.

Annabel is Camilla’s quieter counterpart, working as an interior designer and antiques trader. Camilla enjoyed the debutante circuit as a young woman, whilst Annabel chose a simpler life.

The Queen’s sister was thought to be the more intelligent one, avoiding the London party scene. According to the Mail, she instead traveled to Florence to study art.

“With her style and good taste,” a friend commented, “Annabel is the one who should have been a duchess.”

In 1972, at the age of 23, the interior designer married Simon Elliot, and they lived in a country house in the Dorset village of Stourpaine, where Charles and Camilla would meet for quiet weekends as secret lovers.

When John Major announced the separation of the Prince and Princess of Wales in the Commons in 1992, Annabel continued to support her sister despite the hardships of the relationship, forcing Camilla away and out of public view.

Since the couple married in 2005, Charles and Camilla have been supporters of Annabel’s interior design firm, reportedly paying her £1.5 million for items and design services.

After marrying Prince Charles, the present Queen invited her brother-in-law and her sister Annabel to visit her and Charles on their honeymoon in Scotland, Balmoral.

During the historic Coronation ceremony earlier this year, Queen Camilla was accompanied by two gorgeous companions as she walked beside her sister Annabel and close friend The Marchioness of Lansdowne.

Meanwhile, Pippa Middleton claimed in 2014 that she and her sister Princess Kate are incredibly close and that spending time with family keeps them “affixed to the ground.”

Despite her sister’s existence as a high-profile member of the Royal Family, she told Today that not much has changed.

“I mean, obviously she has pressures that she’s taken on and things,” she explained. But, we spend a lot of time together. We still do a lot together as a family.

“And I think that’s really the heart for all of us is having a really close family that we can sort of be normal with each other, treat each other normally. And that’s sort of kept us all, you know, affixed to the ground.”

When asked if she can still have “girl talk” with the Princess of Wales, Pippa said: “Yeah. Yeah, we do have a very normal, sisterly relationship. We’re very close. And, you know, we support each other and get each other’s opinions and things.”
