Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, 42, recently donned a matching camel-colored outfit from the Malibu-based designer Bleusal that included a $165 tube skirt and a $145 sleeveless turtleneck top.
She was joined by her 38-year-old husband Prince Harry for a video to support the Responsible Technology Youth Power Fund.
Additionally, the mother-of-two used neutral-colored clothing as a senior working royal to “blend in” with the Royal Family; these pieces have since been dubbed “sad beige” on social media.
The Duchess said in the 2022 Netflix documentary about Meghan and Harry: “When I was in the UK, I rarely wore color.
“I wore a lot of muted tones… I also wore it so I could just blend in. I’m not trying to stand out here. I don’t want to embarrass the family.”
Fashion director Bethan Holt asserted that there may be another explanation for Meghan’s preference for “sad beige” after leaving her position as a senior working royal.
Ms. Holt noted that while Meghan would have the freedom to wear any color she desired once she moved to California, beige continued to be the standard due to her celebrity status.
She explained in a piece for The Telegraph that “Where beige was once a tool for Meghan to blend in, it’s now a hallmark of her alignment with the 0.01 percent.
“Beige speaks of private jets, dry cleaners, and generally never having to do anything that could risk a smudge or a stain.”
Despite the Duchess’s usual preference for beige, Ms. Holt argued that Meghan’s most recent outfit was distinctive for a crucial factor.
She continued: “Her hair isn’t as perfectly groomed as normal – in fact, it looks like she might have just returned from a walk on the beach and her make-up is designed to look natural and healthy.
“So perhaps Harry and Meghan have moved on from their ‘quiet luxury’ beige era and are now in their ‘we’re concentrating on a simple life’ beige chapter.
“Meghan might once have said she wore the shade because she’s ‘not trying to stand out here’ but somehow the message is anything but that.”
When she made her first Christmas appearance at Sandringham in 2017 while still a royal fiancé, Meghan wore one of her most recognizable beige ensembles.

Meghan accessorized her beige coat with brown items including Stuart Weitzman boots, Marks & Spencer leather gloves, and a custom-made hat by Philip Treacy.
She wore a dress from the brand Club Monaco that was actually burgundy velvet underneath the coat.
