Kim Kardashian made her Met Gala debut as Kanye West’s date in 2013 when she was pregnant with their first child, North West. The year’s theme was “Punk: Chaos to Couture,”. Kardashian wore a long-sleeve, floral Riccardo Tisci dress that had a high neckline and daring slit.
In 2014, fashion icon played it safe from super safe for the 2014 theme, “Charles James: Beyond Fashion.” She wore a custom Lanvin gown, which featured a black satin belt and a thigh-high slit.

Her 2015 dress was designed by Peter Dundas. The outfit features strategically-placed crystals and a long train of white feathers. Kim disclosed on Instagram that her inspiration had been the outfit that Cher wore to her very first Met Gala in 1974.
In 2016, the reality tv star wore a metallic silver Balmain gown with a thigh-high slit for the “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology” theme 2016.
For the 2017 Met Gala, Kim wore an off-the-shoulder white dress for the “Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons: Art of the In-Between” theme.
The theme for 2018 was “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination”. The Kardashian’s custom gold Versace dress didn’t receive much attention.
The 2019 Met Gala saw Kim wearing a Thierry Mugler gown for the “Camp: Notes on Fashion”. The outfit hugged her body and was adorned with crystals.

In 2021, Kim Kardashian star shocked fans by arriving at the 2021 “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion” Met Gala in a Balenciaga bodysuit and oversized T-shirt dress that covered her from head to toe.
Kardashian received the most attention when she arrived at the 2022 “In America: An Anthology of Fashion” Met Gala in the dress Marilyn Monroe wore to sing “Happy Birthday” to President John F. Kennedy in 1962.
Finally for the “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty” 2023 Met Gala, Kardashian arrived in a Schiaparelli gown that was made almost entirely of strands of pearls.
