The fantasy series, based on the best-selling book series of the same name, will premiere on June 29. Henry Cavill reprises his role as Geralt of Rivia for one final time.
On June 8, the official season 3 trailer was released, showcasing fresh scenes of Geralt attempting to defend his family.
The Witcher’s first season premiered in December 2019. The series was renewed for a third season three months before season two started in December 2021. The Witcher: Blood Origin, a spinoff, debuted in December 2022.

When Will The Witcher Season 3 Be Released?
Season 3 of The Witcher will launch on Netflix on June 29. The Witcher season 3 will be broken into two parts.
Volume 1 will premiere on June 29 and will comprise the first five episodes. Volume 2, which includes the final three episodes, will be released on July 27.
According to Redanian Intelligence, Netflix officially announced season 3 in September 2021, however, pre-production did not begin until January 2022. Season 2 filming was repeatedly halted owing to the COVID-19 outbreak and Henry’s on-set injury.
Cast of The Witcher Season 3
Season 3 of The Witcher will continue the story of Geralt of Rivia, with Henry Cavill making his final appearance as the character. Netflix confirmed in October 2022 that Liam Hemsworth would replace Henry as Geralt in season 4.
“My journey as Geralt of Rivia has been filled with both monsters and adventures, but alas, I will be laying down my medallion and swords for season 4,” Henry stated in a statement. “In my place, the incredible Mr. Liam Hemsworth will take up the mantle of the White Wolf.”

Henry, I’ve been a fan of yours for years and was inspired by what you brought to this beloved character. I may have some big boots to fill, but I’m truly excited to be stepping into The Witcher world.”
Season 3 will also feature Anya Chalotra as Yennefer, Freya Allan as Ciri, Joey Batey as Jaskier, Myanna Buring as Tissaia, Eamon Farren as Cahir, Mimî M Khayisa as Fringilla, Royce Pierreson as Istredd, Anna Shaffer as Triss Merigold, Mecia Simson as Francesca, Tom Canton as Filavandrel, Mahesh Jadu as Vilgefortz, Graham McTavish as Dijsktra, Cassie Clare as Philippa, and Hugh Skinner as Radovid.
What will the third season of The Witcher be about?
“As monarchs, mages, and beasts of the Continent compete to capture her, Geralt takes Ciri into hiding, determined to protect his newly-reunited family against those who threaten to destroy it,” according to the official season 3 summary.
Yennefer, entrusted with Ciri’s magical training, leads them to the fortress of Aretuza, where they hope to learn more about the girl’s latent powers; instead, they find themselves in a battleground of political corruption, dark magic, and betrayal. Season 2 finished with the unexpected revelation that Ciri’s father Duny is the current emperor of Nilfgaard, the White Flame. Season 3 will undoubtedly explore the father-daughter bond.
In addition, Yennefer, Geralt, and Ciri’s journey to Aretuza will continue as they attempt to educate Ciri on how to harness her magical powers.
Geralt remarks in the first season 3 teaser, released in April, that “for the first time, I understand real fear.” He draws his sword to defend Ciri.
Geralt vows in the promotional trailer that he “won’t abandon” Ciri. They go into hiding with Yennefer, but new threats emerge. A scary beast is seen guarding a dark maze. As he engages in epic sword combat with his adversaries, Geralt warns of a “dangerous future.”
