Grateful heart! Selena Gomez, celebrated her birthday yesterday July 22, by encouraging others to give back.
The “Only Murders in the Building” star took to her Instagram to share with her followers what she wants them to do on her big day.
“I am thankful for so much in my life and one of the things I am most thankful for is the work we’ve been able to do with the Rare Impact Fund through @Rarebeauty,” she captioned the post of herself blowing out candles on a floral-adorned cake.
“Because of YOU, we’ve been able to raise awareness and increase access to mental health services for young people. This is my true passion in life.”
Gomez said that she doesn’t need gifts from people, rather she wants them to donate to the “Rare Impact Fund.”
“If you have the means, consider donating to help us make a difference. I LOVE YOU ALL!” she concluded.
Several fans left heartfelt birthday wishes in the “Wizards of Waverly Place” alum’s Instagram comments.
“HAPPY BIRTHDAY WONDROUSLY BEAUTIFUL QUEEN!!!! We absolutely ADORE you more than words can express!!!,” wrote one fan.
“@selenagomez happy birthday you beautiful soul! I hope your day is filled with love and happiness.” added another.

Gomez has always utilized her platform to raise awareness about mental health issues.
The Rare Impact Fund was established in 2020 as “part of her commitment to addressing mental health and self-acceptance,” according to the fund’s website.
She has also been open about her own mental health struggles.
Last year, it was discovered that the “Calm Down” singer, who was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2020, had previously expressed emotions of not wanting to be alive following a “mental breakdown” during her 2016 “Revival” tour, which she canceled early.
‘At one point she’s like, ‘I don’t want to be alive right now. I don’t want to live, Theresa Mingus, Gomez’s former assistant, told the camera in the actress’ Apple TV+ documentary “My Mind and Me.”
Gomez has taken social media breaks in the past to protect her mental health from trolls.
Most recently, the “Love You Like a Love Song” singer announced a break from social media after her feud with former Justin Bieber’s wife, Hailey Bieber, resurfaced online.
