Peta Murgatroyd, Maksim Chmerkovskiy Reveal Second Baby’s Name And Face

Peta Murgatroyd and Maksim Chmerkovskiy’s baby have made his Instagram debut.

“Rio John Chmerkovskiy,” the 36-year-old Australian professional dancer posted on Instagram on Wednesday, alongside a photo of their baby, born on June 18.

“We are overjoyed to share our baby boy with all of you,” she added, noting that their 6-year-old son, Shai, “is already the best big brother and we all feel very complete.”

Murgatroyd ended with, “Life is good XO.”

Rio was photographed relaxing on a white bed while wearing a naked onesie and a matching beanie. He was also chewing on a nude-colored pacifier.

Next to the baby was a circle-shaped board with the words “Rio John.”

Several celebrities, including Rumer Willis, expressed their affection for Murgatroyd and Chmerkovskiy’s infant, writing, “Hi sweet boy. I love you already.”

“He’s perfect,” Jessie James Decker commented, while Cynthia Bailey simply dropped a heart emoji.”

The “Dancing With the Stars” pros announced the arrival of their baby on Monday.

“Happy Father’s Day!” Chmerkovskiy, 43, shared a hospital photo of himself cradling the infant with the hashtag #MadeInPeta.

Murgatroyd said in January that she and her husband, who married in 2017, were expecting a baby after many miscarriages and one round of IVF.

Before Murgatroyd’s pregnancy, the couple had been outspoken about their difficulties in conceiving another child.

Murgatroyd lost her first pregnancy in a Whole Foods toilet in 2020.

“I was sitting in the bathroom sobbing,” she told People in June. “That was something that will probably live with me for the rest of my life, being on that toilet by myself, knowing what was happening and not being able to stop it.”

She subsequently admitted to having two more miscarriages, feeling “ashamed” and “embarrassed” at the time.

Chmerkovskiy, for his part, told the magazine that the losses had “really upset” him.

“I never thought that two healthy, athletic people could be in a predicament like this,” the Ukrainian dancer shared. “It’s a lot to process.”

After visiting with a reproductive professional, the couple began to feel more hopeful about conceiving again.

Murgatroyd, who had been diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome, had an egg retrieval that month to start the IVF process, followed by an embryo transfer two months later.
