Lindsie Chrisley has spoken out about her son Jackson’s sad reaction to learning that his grandparents are in prison.

The 33-year-old opened out on Instagram about the toughest challenges she’s had as a mother as she continues to co-parent Jackson, 11, with ex-husband Will Campbell.

Lindsie claimed that Jackson has been affected by the imprisonment of her father, Todd Chrisley, and his wife Julie.

Todd began his 12-year term in January at Federal Prison Camp Pensacola, while Julie, 50, will serve seven years at Federal Correctional Institution and Federal Prison Camp Marianna in Florida.

She will also be on probation for 16 months once she is freed from prison.

“On our way to the beach, I saw Jackson notice the signs to Pensacola, Florida, and began looking around without saying much to me,” said Lindsie, whom Todd shares with ex-wife Teresa Terry.

“I noticed he was watching my body language and facial expressions as he always does. He asked me if he could open the sunroof to ‘feel his papa’s air.’”

Lindsie stated that she is “forever trying to do what you think is best without knowing the outcome is incredibly difficult.”

The influencer added that she does not allow her son to visit his grandparents in prison, and that “hard decisions parents face daily are not talked about enough.”

“Knowing Jackson misses his grandparents, even seeing that he has sent them text messages to phones they don’t have when I turn off his phone at night absolutely shatters me,” she said.

While Lindsie hasn’t been as vocal about her father’s incarceration as her siblings, she did announce in April that Todd has made “great friends” in prison.

“His spirits are great,” she said on PodcastOne’s The Southern Tea at the time. “He is really just embracing the process there and making the best of the process there with the people that are also there serving time with him.”

When he is freed from prison, he will additionally serve 16 months on probation.

“He’s made great friends. He talks about his friends there,” she stated.
