Daniel Starr, Kevin Costner’s former tenant, insists he “absolutely” did not “hook up” with the “Yellowstone” star’s estranged wife, Christine Baumgartner.
When asked about his relationship with the duo on Wednesday, Starr told TMZ he was “just a guy who paid his rent” and tries “to be friendly to everybody.”

“I just had a tenant-landlord relationship with them, nothing else,” he explained.

“There was nothing there,” said the real estate developer. “They have kids and are going through a divorce.”
Starr went on to express sympathy for the couple’s divorce.
“I just hope that it ends peacefully for them,” he told the news source. “I hope his divorce resolves and his kids are minimally impacted.”
Costner, 68, and Baumgartner, 49, had been married since 2004, with the actress filing for divorce in May.
The ex-couple has three children — Cayden, 16, Hayes, 14, and Grace, 13.
Not only did Baumgartner make headlines last month for reportedly refusing to leave their Santa Barbara, California house and demanding $248,000 in child support, but details about her acquaintance with Starr surfaced on Monday.

“After he moved in, he became close friends with Chris and Kevin,” The Sun reported. “They’d hang out together with their kids. But Kevin was always filming, so Chris must have been lonely.”
According to the informant, Baumgartner hung out “almost daily” with Starr, which led to Costner confronting the tech titan following a fallout.
The situation “escalated from there,” with Starr’s lease ending early after a legal dispute with the Oscar winner.
