Kevin Costner claims he can not afford his estranged wife’s high child support obligations because he is no longer on the blockbuster program “Yellowstone.”
Christine Baumgartner has asked Costner to pay her $248,000 a month, but the “Field of Dreams” star has responded that she has an incorrect picture of his income.

“I will earn substantially less in 2023 than I did in 2022. This is because I am no longer under contract for Yellowstone, the principal source of my income last year,” Costner, stated in documents filed this week and obtained by Us Weekly.
Paramount Network announced in May that “Yellowstone” would end with its fifth season.
According to the records, Costner, who has played patriarch John Dutton since the series debuted in 2018, argued that Baumgartner’s appraisal of his finances was incorrect because his wages are “variable and can change quite dramatically” each year.
Costner described Baumgartner’s 6-figure request as “astonishing,” adding that he cannot “afford to pay those amounts and pay my living and business expenses without liquidating assets.”
The “Hidden Figures” actor, who has three children with Baumgartner: Cayden (16), Hayden (14), and Grace (13), also stated that the model said that she “understood” that this year would be “a difficult year financially.”
After 18 years of marriage, Baumgartner, 49, filed for divorce from Costner in early May. The divorce got bitter soon, with the Oscar winner saying Baumgartner refused to leave their married home.
The former TV presenter responded by saying Costner lacked a “legal basis” to evict her, but a month later agreed to move out only if he agreed to pay her additional money, resulting in her roughly $250,000 monthly paycheck request.

The “Dances With Wolves” star claimed her large child support payment would go toward plastic surgery rather than the children.
Soon after, Baumgartner was pictured leaving town with her children, apparently to avoid the divorce turmoil.
