While the family’s “heartache at Joshua’s passing pains [them] beyond measure,” they may “find comfort knowing that he is finally at peace.”

They ended their message by requesting privacy and encouraged anyone “who is experiencing a mental health crisis” to get help.

Seiter’s cause of death was not disclosed in the announcement.

Just four days before his death, he posted a selfie of himself smiling with the comment, “Surviving depression and anxiety one day at a time with a smile.”

Seiter has been open about his mental health difficulties over the years, stating last month that he battles “feelings of worthlessness daily.”

“How are we going to stop conditioning our self-worth on the acceptance of others?” he questioned his 450,000 followers. “The answer to that question only came after I was open and honest with the world about my mental health struggles. It does get better.”

He was diagnosed with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), bipolar depression, and generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), according to an Instagram post dated July 2021.

Seiter appeared on Kaitlyn Bristowe’s season of “The Bachelorette” in 2015 but was ousted after the first week.

The Juris Doctor came out as bisexual at the start of the year, revealing that he had discovered love with a man named David.

In May, Seiter told “TV Shows Ace” that he and David had been dating on and off since November 2022 and that he was “excited to finally be in a healthy relationship.”

Seiter and David, whom he had known for years, got engaged in June.
