Emily Blunt is putting Hollywood on hold.

The British actress, who stars in the highly anticipated “Oppenheimer” film, has stated why she’s looking to take a break from acting for at least a year.

“This year, I’m not working. I worked quite a bit last year and my oldest baby is nine, so we’re in the last year of single digits,” she said on iHeart’s “Table For Two with Bruce Bozzi” podcast.

“And I just feel [like] there are cornerstones to their day that are so important when they’re little,” she added.

“And it’s, ‘Will you wake me up? Will you take me to school? Will you pick me up? Will you put me to bed?’ And I just need to be there for all of them for a good stretch. And I just felt that in my bones.”

When she takes on time-consuming tasks, the actress says it comes at a high “emotional cost” for her and her children.

She went on to say that she is “very prone to guilt.”

“I think maybe all mothers are,” she elaborated. “You’re just prone to feeling bad for, God forbid, wanting something outside of being a mother.”

Blunt added “I am a huge advocate for it — I’m a huge advocate for women being ambitious. It’s just dreams with purpose, it’s not an ugly word.”

It comes after Blunt recently stated that she does not want her children to follow in her footsteps as an actress. Because of its superficial nature, the 40-year-old stated that the competitive industry may be “very disappointing” for women.

“My toes curl when people tell me, ‘My daughter wants to be an actress.’ I want to say, ‘Don’t do it,’” she told Harper’s Bazaar UK.

“Because it’s a hard industry and it can be very disappointing. A lot of people tell you not to take things personally — but it’s completely personal, especially when you’re being judged on how you look. So you just have to endure that side of things.”

Furthermore, the “A Quiet Place” star’s fame isn’t “exciting” for her children, as she’s “completely disassociated” with the level of fame she’s attained.
