As the saying goes, “Everything has a beginning and an end,” Well, it seems Britney Spears and her husband Sam Asghari is at their end.
Sam Asghari and Britney Spears are officially calling it quits.
According to various outlets, the fitness trainer filed for divorce from the pop star just hours after news of their split leaked.
Asghari cited “irreconcilable differences” and is also requesting that the singer pay spousal support and his legal bills.
Surprisingly, he listed their split date as July 28.
Asghari’s lawyer, Neal Hersh, also signaled that he would challenge their prenup, since court filings state, “[He] has yet to determine the full nature and extent of the separate property assets and obligations of each party.”
“There are various items of community and quasi-community assets and debts, the full nature and extent of which are unknown to [Sam] at this time,” the statement stated.
Hersh’s supposed motives come after a source told TSZ Newz that Asghari supposedly wants to renegotiate their prenup to retain her secrets.
According to the source, Asghari is “attempting to negotiate concessions beyond his prenuptial agreement and threatening to go public with extraordinarily embarrassing information about Britney unless he gets paid.”
“So that’s what Sam is focused on,” the insider said.
Spears, on the other hand, is said to be heading in with guns blazing, as TSZ Newz has learned she’s recruited powerhouse divorce attorney Laura Wasser.
Rumors that Asghari, 29, and Spears, 41, were having a rocky relationship had been circulating for quite some time, with allegations that the two had been living apart for a while now.
TSZ Newz disclosed earlier today that the former lovers had split up. According to a source, the two had “a nuclear argument” that included charges of cheating.
According to multiple sources, a brawl erupted after Asghari confronted Spears about an allegation that the “Toxic” singer had been unfaithful to him.
“It’s only a matter of time before Sam files for divorce,” one insider added, noting that Asghari had already moved out.
The news comes just a few months after Asghari took to Instagram Stories to criticize a “disgusting” TV special about Spears, which included rumors that their marriage was in “trouble.”
“I found it absolutely disgusting for the people who were in her life when she didn’t have a voice, they went and told her story like it was theirs. It was absolutely disgusting,” Asghari said in a series of videos, referring to his wife’s traumatic, years-long conservatorship that was terminated in November 2021.
“How are you going to take the most influential person of her generation, the Princess of Pop, America’s sweetheart, and put her in prison where her father [Jamie Spears] tells her what to do, what water to drink, who to see and use her as a money-making machine?” he continued.
“All of a sudden — after 15 years when she’s free after all those gaslighting, all those things that went down — now you’re going to put her under a microscope and tell her story? No, no, that’s also disgusting, so don’t do that, and don’t believe what you read online.”
Spears and Asghari began dating after meeting on the set of the Grammy winner’s “Slumber Party” music video in 2016.
“Sam has been a huge support for Britney,” a source said in June 2021. “He helps boost her confidence.”
