Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez have been cruising around the Mediterranean, but in between romantic strolls and shopping excursions, the “Argo” star found time to indulge in another of his great passions: gambling.
Eagle eyes caught up with Ben, 48, at a Monte Carlo casino earlier this week, when he was rumored to have spent hours at the tables alone in a 007-style black suit and a crisp white shirt.
A photo of the actor at a casino table with his arm around Lopez’s waist, playfully drawing her close, also circulated on social media. J.Lo, 52, was also seen conversing with her crew outside of the table.
Affleck, who is known for his card skills, was spotted in a black T-shirt and a baseball cap in a Las Vegas casino last month, gambling solo until 3 a.m.
While in Sin City, he was also seen with Jennifer’s mother, Guadalupe Rodrguez, at the Wynn resort, where he was filming a new project.
Ben has acknowledged that he was once barred from playing blackjack in a Las Vegas casino. In a 2014 interview, he stated, “That is a true story … I took some time to learn the game and became a decent blackjack player.
“And once I became decent, the casinos asked me not to play blackjack. I mean, the fact that being good at the game is against the rules at the casinos should tell you something about casinos.
“I had always liked blackjack. I don’t play any other games of chance. I don’t bet on football games, and I don’t gamble at all, really, outside of that. But I knew with blackjack that there’s a way you can improve your odds.
“And so I started trying to learn. And then I just got to a point in my life where I’m like, ‘If I’m going to do something, I’m going to try and do it really well.’ It was sort of presented like I did something illegal.’”
Ben was also rumored to be a participant in Molly Bloom’s purported high-stakes Hollywood poker game, which included Tobey Maguire and Matt Damon.
The “Way Back” actor and Lopez, who resumed their romance after 17 years apart in April, have spent much of July touring Europe, narrowly avoiding the “Let’s Get Loud” singer’s ex-fiancée Alex Rodriguez, who is also in the area with NFL reporter Melanie Collins and other friends.
