Arnold Schwarzenegger Describes His Affair With Family Housekeeper As A ‘F-k Up’

Arnold Schwarzenegger is owning up to his mistake.

“It’s just my f-k up,” he plainly stated of his affair with housekeeper Mildred Baena, which ended his marriage to Maria Shriver in 2011.

“Remember, it’s not like we had a feud,” he said in a Sunday interview. “We didn’t have a fight.”

The extramarital affair between Schwarzenegger and Baena produced a child named Joseph, who was born 5 days after the ex-California governor welcomed son Christopher with Shriver.

Despite the news that their marriage was over, Schwarzenegger, 76, said he and the journalist, 67, are still on excellent terms.

“My chapter with Maria will continue on forever,” he added. “Even though it’s a different relationship, there’s no reason for me to feel anything other than love for her.”

‘The Terminator’ star also emphasized that the pair will always put their children first.

“We always made it very clear that the kids should not suffer because of [the affair],” he explained. “And she has her things, her relationship, I have mine [with Heather Milligan], but we always communicate about the kids, about the holidays, about birthday parties and Mother’s Day parties and Christmas.”

In addition to Christopher, Schwarzenegger and Shriver have two daughters, Katherine, 33, and Christina, 32, as well as a son, Patrick, 30.

According to a source, Shriver’s children “don’t love” their father’s illegitimate son.

“Arnold has always treated [Joseph] like all his other kids — very fairly. But for whatever reason, the other kids take [the affair] out on Joe,” the insider explained.

Shriver discovered her husband’s affair during a marriage counseling session in 2011, according to Netflix’s “Arnold” documentary.

“[Maria] wants to know if you’re the father of Joseph,” the Austrian actor remembered their counselor saying, referring to Baena’s child, who resembled Schwarzenegger.

“I thought my heart stopped,” the “True Lies” actor said. “And then I told the truth.”

In May 2011, the pair announced the end of their 25-year marriage.

After a few days, it was revealed that Schwarzenegger had fathered a kid with the family’s housekeeper.

However, because they did not have a prenuptial agreement and there was a lengthy property settlement to sort out, Schwarzenegger and Shriver’s divorce was not finalized until 2021.

In 2013, Schwarzenegger began dating physical therapist Heather Milligan. Despite their 27-year age difference, the couple is still going strong.

Shriver, for her part, has moved on with political analyst Matthew Dowd, but the couple is thought to have separated in late 2020.
