Prince Harry claims Prince William advised him not to propose to Meghan Markle because the couple’s relationship was progressing “too quickly.”
In his shocking new memoir, “Spare,” he revealed that William rejected the idea of Harry and Markle “becoming a foursome” with him and Kate because she was “an American actress after all.”

As the Duke and Duchess of Sussex became more serious, Harry told William that their late mother, Diana, had helped him “find” the “Suits” actress, which irritated the Prince of Wales.
After making the audacious claim, a “concerned” William “took a step back” and warned his younger brother that he was “going a little too far.”

Despite William’s reservations, the couple married in 2017 — just over a year into their relationship.
However, the wedding planning process only widened the schism between the brothers.

When it came to selecting a venue, William rejected the idea of Harry and Markle marrying at Westminster Abbey, where he and Middleton had married seven years before.
He also didn’t want the couple to choose St. Paul’s, where Princess Diana and King Charles married in 1981, because it was “too grand” for their wedding.

While the wedding caused conflict between the brothers, Middleton and Markle’s relationship deteriorated around the same time.
The two women had a now-famous spat over the bridesmaid dresses for the Sussexes’ wedding, specifically Princess Charlotte’s gown.

According to Harry, the Princess of Wales texted Markle about a “problem” with the fit of her daughter’s gown just days before their wedding.
Middleton told the actress that when Charlotte, now 7, tried on the dress, she “burst into tears” because it was “too big, long, and baggy” and needed to be completely redone.

After Middleton agreed to bring the child to the palace for alterations, the two women got into a heated argument that left Markle “on the floor” in tears.
Although they were able to patch things up the next day, the same cannot be said for the Fab Four’s relationship after “Spare” hits stores on January 10.
