Ben Affleck is facing backlash for a recent freewheeling interview with Howard Stern, but Jennifer Lopez is also upset, according to a source close to the singer.
During an interview on “The Howard Stern Show” on Tuesday, Affleck seemed to blame his sobriety struggles on his divorce from Jennifer Garner.
Ben said, “Part of why I started drinking was because I was trapped. I was like, ‘I can’t leave because of my kids, but I’m not happy, what do I do?’ And what I did was drank a bottle of Scotch and fell asleep on the couch, which turned out not to be the solution.”

A lot of sources have disclosed that Jennifer Lopez, Ben Affleck current girlfriend isn’t happy with the conversation.
“Lopez is pissed. She is getting pulled into this because she is dating him. She doesn’t want to be dragged into this,” a source said and added that “She has met Jennifer Garner. She is trying to get to know her and Ben’s kids. It’s reckless and cavalier of him.”
Another source refuted the claims the actor made saying, “This is simply not true and the focus is on the children.”
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner were married from 2005 to 2015, and they have three children: Violet (16), Seraphina (12), and Samuel (9), while Jennifer Lopez has 13-year-old twins Max and Emme with ex-husband singer Marc Anthony.
Garner, Affleck, and Lopez all went trick-or-treating with their respective children this Halloween.
Lopez’s and Affleck’s children have also spent time together: in August, they reportedly went to Disney’s Magic Castle and saw “Hamilton” in Los Angeles. In November, they all took part in a food drive.
During a recent interview, Affleck said of Garner, “We had a marriage that didn’t work, this happens, with somebody I love and respect, but to whom I shouldn’t be married any longer.” “I knew she was a good mom,” she added.
Ben has been to rehab several times and has been open about his sobriety struggles. In 2018, three years after their divorce, Garner was seen driving him to rehab after allegedly staging an intervention.
The “Argo” star’s comments have attracted so much backlash on social media.
A Twitter user said, “When you can’t accept that your drinking problem is because of you, you still have a drinking problem. Jennifer Garner didn’t drive Ben Affleck to drink, she did however drive him to rehab probably saving his life.”
A second user said, “Free PR lesson for Ben Affleck: I drank because I was unhappy. End the sentence RIGHT THERE.”
And another noted, “Ben Affleck blaming his wife (Jennifer Garner) for his drinking problem tells me everything I need to know about him. JLo, you’ve got yourself a real catch there.”
