A representative for First Lady Jill Biden said late Thursday that she had a “successful” surgical surgery to remove debris lodged in her left foot from a puncture wound she received on a beach in Hawaii.

Jill Biden stumbled on an object that became trapped in her foot while walking on the beach over the weekend, according to her spokesperson Michael LaRosa.
LaRosa said, “After inspection of the wound by medical staff, it is unclear what object caused the puncture. The wound is now clean, free of infection and it is anticipated that it will heal nicely.”
The treatment was performed at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, where she was accompanied by President Joe Biden, who has made it a point to accompany her to medical appointments.
