Madonna expressed her support for Britney Spears in an emotional statement on her Instagram story late Thursday, condemning the pop star’s conservatorship and calling for her freedom.

The “Material Girl” singer, who collaborated with Spears on “Me Against the Music” in 2003, blasted the restrictions that Spears has been subjected to for more than a decade.

Madonna began, “Give this woman her life back. Slavery was abolished such a long time ago! Death to the avaricious patriarchy that has been torturing women for centuries. This is a breach of human rights! “Britney we coming to get you out of jail!”

The message was written by Madonna, 62, over a photo of herself wearing a tank top with Spears’ name on it.

Following her heartbreaking testimony in court last month, in which she told the court she was “traumatized” and called for her father, Jamie Spears, to be imprisoned, the “Vogue” singer is the latest pop star to join the #FreeBritney movement.

Earlier this week, the 39-year-old “Toxic” singer’s court-appointed lawyer, Samuel Ingham III, asked to resign from her conservatorship case, following the departure of her manager Larry Rudolph and the departure of her estate’s co-conservator, Bessemer Trust.

According to TMZ, Ingham decided to resign after becoming “extremely upset” about claims made about him by Spears in her shocking court hearing on June 23.

“Ma’am, I didn’t know I could petition the conservatorship to end,” the “Toxic” singer told Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Brenda Penny at the time. I honestly had no idea.”

Lynne Spears, Spears’ mother, filed court documents on Wednesday requesting that her “Lucky” singer daughter be allowed to hire her own lawyer.

Lynne’s petition praised her daughter for “baring her heart to the court in an impassioned plea to be heard on several requests” and called Spears’ court testimony “a very courageous showing.”

She also stated that Britney is “able to care” for herself and has been for “many years.”
